If you are going to study in the Netherlands as a foreign student, you may need to apply for a visa before arrival and/or a residence permit after arrival. Whether or not you need these documents depends on  - your purpose of stay; - the lenght of your stay; - your nationality

Should you apply yourself, or through the University? If you need a visa, and your stay will exceed 90 days, then the university can apply for your visa using a short procedure. On these pages you will read what we need from you to be able to make the application on your behalf.

Study or Research at  bachelor's or master's level		90 days or less		Follow the procedure for short stay permits.
		> 90 days		Follow the procedure for study for more than 90 days (DIAGRAM 2).
